Hold on.

Maybe Dan’s final chapter exposes Bart Bass. Maybe HE brings down Chuck’s father. Maybe that’s what he’s doing by getting closer to him…and alienating his “friends” so that Bart will see that and “trust” him…


The thing is…

While I’m not over the moon impressed with President Obama and…

I don’t think Mitt Romney is THAT bad and…

It’s not that I agree or disagree with all of the issues all of the time or that I’ve ever really been a single-issue-voter.

That being said—

I simply cannot vote for the leader of a political party that makes it a part of their platform to continue to deny an entire portion of our population their fundamental civil rights.  I can’t do it.  And there is nothing anyone can say to change my mind.

The economy?  Yes.  It sucks.  It’ll suck regardless of who is in that chair in January but a little bit of a higher take home paycheck for me is NOT worth sacrificing what I feel is a moral obligation to advocate for social justice and what is right.

An entire portion of our population is being denied their civil rights.

Think about that when you say the pledge of allegiance “Liberty and Justice for ALL.”

Think about that when you tout the Declaration of Independence “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Think about that when you quote the Constitution “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”

I just cannot turn to my friends and tell them that I deserve more rights than they do.  I don’t know how I would ever be able to look them in the face.

I don’t know that I could adequately convey the feelings I get when watching this.


Thousands of people at the vigil tonight in Aurora Colorado.

So proud of my community tonight; the mourners, the community members, the dignitaries, the clergy, the police and fire and first responders, the nurses and doctors and medical personnel, and the media.

There were thousands there tonight.  And not once did I see or hear or come across coverage of one member of the WBC.  

THAT’S how we walk with honor folks.  Well done.
